DONATE FROM YOUR IRA
If you are age 72 or older, IRS rules require you to take minimum distributions (RMDs) each year from your tax-deferred retirement accounts. Amounts distributed as a direct transfer of funds to a qualified nonprofit such as LALDEF will be counted toward satisfying your RMD for the year and allow you to save on your taxable income!
MAKE A DONATION OF STOCK
Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds directly to LALDEF. Compared with donating cash or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you can increase your gift as well as your tax deduction.
