CRIME VICTIMS FUND
The
Latin American Legal Defense
and Education Fund,
through
its Immigrant Crime Victims
fund, assists immigrants
who
are victims of crime and
can demonstrate both financial
need
and ineligibility to access
normal legal and social
services.
The LALDEF Crime Victims
fund will provide
financial
assistance with legal,
medical and transportation
expenses.
For stories of the victims
we are helping see our
December
2007 newsletter, above.
Please
help us help these vulnerable
victims by
sending
your contribution by check
payable to LALDEF,
indicating “Crime
Victims Fund” in
the memo field, to PO

traves de este fondo LALDEF
ayuda a inmigrantes
que
hayan sido víctimas
de ciertos crímenes
violentos, y
que
puedan demonstrar tanto
necesidad económica
como
el
no poder calificar para
servicios sociales y legales
que
normalmente
estan disponibles a residentes
en este país.
El
fondo de ayuda a las víctimas
de crimen de LALDEF
prestará ayuda
monetaria con gastos legales
médicos y
de
transporte. Para conocer las

que
estan siendo asistidas véa

(LALDEF) se fundó en
Agosto 2004 en respuesta al
devastador impacto
de las políticas migratorias
de Estados Unidos
en la comunidad latinoamericana.
La
misión del Fondo
Latinoamericano para la
Defensa Legal y la Educación
(LALDEF) es la de defender
y promover los derechos
civiles, e incrementar
el
acceso a la educación, entre
los latinoamericanos en
el area regional
de Princeton.
La
Junta Directiva y el Consejo
de Asesores de LALDEF incluyen
abogados especializados
en inmigración,
académicos,
artistas,
ejecutivos corporativos,
activistas comunitarios, maestros,
miembros de organizaciones
culturales y de servicio social.
LALDEF
desarrolla su labor principalmente
con el apoyo de
voluntarios
de la comunidad emigrante
asi como de la comunidad
en
general, por lo que sus servicios
se ven limitados a la region
que
rodea
a Princeton, que es principalmente
el Condado de Mercer, en
Nueva
Jersey. LALDEF
es una organización
sin animos de lucro,
bajo
la sección 501(c)
(3) del IRS. Donaciones

THE
LATIN AMERICAN LEGAL
DEFENSE and EDUCATION
FUND
(LALDEF) incorporated
in August 2004, in response
to the
devastating impact on
the Latino community of the
increasing
level of immigration law enforcement.
The
mission of the Latin American
Legal Defense and Education
Fund
(LALDEF)
is to defend and promote
civil rights, and increase
access to
education, among
Latin Americans in the
Greater Princeton area.
The Board of
Trustees and the Advisory
Council of LALDEF
include immigration
attorneys, academics,
artists, corporate
executives,
community activists,
teachers, members of
non-profit social service agencies
and cultural organizations.
LALDEF
relies primarily on
community volunteers, drawn
from
both, the
immigrant community and the
community at large,
for its
work, therefore
it is limited to providing
services in the
Princeton
regional area, which
is largely in Mercer County,
NJ.
LALDEF
is a non-profit corporation
under IRS section 501(c)(3). Donations
to LALDEF are deductible
from federal income tax,
to
the extent permitted
by law, and can be
made by check payable
