LALDEF Celebrates 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Health and Resource Fair
October is in full swing and before we know it, the final days of Hispanic Heritage Month will be upon us. Before the celebrations come to a close, however, I wanted to take a moment to share some heartfelt memories from this special month for the LALDEF team.
On Saturday, October 3rd, LALDEF hosted its 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Health and Resource Fair at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Trenton. This highly-anticipated event brought together some of the region’s top health, social services, and educational providers, offering attendees a one-stop shop for resources and support. With over 20 vendors and nearly 200 participants, this year’s fair was our largest to date. As music filled the air and families buzzed with excitement, the event was a vibrant celebration of our community’s history, resilience, and strength.
LALDEF serves as a bridge to care, connecting clients with dignified support, individualized assistance, and access to a network of wraparound services to build a thriving and stable life. For more than two decades, our organization’s approach has been rooted in a careful understanding of the challenges of those seeking citizenship and transitional support.
An organization run by and for immigrants, LALDEF is both rooted in its heritage and emboldened by a bold vision of its future. Inspired by the solidarity of the community we serve, LALDEF believes that our community stands its strongest when it stands together. And now, we call on you to come stand with us.
As Mercer County’s primary resource hub for low-income immigrants, your support can help LALDEF make a difference for families living in your region. Donations can be made at: Donate to LALDEF.
Thank you for making this important work possible, and from the LALDEF family to yours: Happy Hispanic Heritage Month.
