If you are age 72 or older, IRS rules require you to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) each year from your tax-deferred retirement accounts. Amounts distributed as a QCD (direct transfer of funds) to a qualified nonprofit such as LALDEF, can be counted toward satisfying your RMD for the year and save on your taxable income!
TO MAKE A DONATION OF STOCK
Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to LALDEF! Compared with donating cash, or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction.
The most convenient way to make a gift of stock is through electronic transfer to our account with Vanguard. For more information, please contact Lorraine at
