LALDEF Sounds Off for Change in our Community

Dear LALDEF Friends and Supporters,

April has been an exciting month for the LALDEF crew! Our team has been busy as can be, both at our Trenton headquarters and on the move to bring our mission to members of our community.

On Thursday, April 10th, I had the opportunity to speak at Princeton University’s Effron Center for the Study of America. This roundtable discussion, entitled “Beyond the Headlines: Recent Immigration Policy and Community Impact”, brought together leaders in immigration, academia, and advocacy to analyze what recent policy shifts in immigration will mean for vulnerable members of our community.

On April 24th, I was also honored to join the Princeton Area Community Foundation’s panel discussion, Facing the Future. LALDEF was joined in this dynamic discussion by Bernie Flynn of Mercer Street Friends, as well as Leslie Koppel of RISE. This panel discussion was a lively meeting of the minds, offering impactful insights in navigating the current climate for nonprofit organizations.

From our Casa Bienvenida to panels, the press, and more, LALDEF is devoted to amplifying voices and advocating on behalf of our most vulnerable populations. And now, we invite you to join the fight.

If you have suggestions, comments, or questions regarding LALDEF’s advocacy in our community, we want to hear from you. Please contact our Director of Development and Communications, Angelica Stern, at angelica.stern@laldef.org if you are interested in sharing what issues and initiatives you think LALDEF should be prioritizing. We know our greatest work is accomplished when we work together, so we are eager to hear your feedback!

While LALDEF continues to make waves in our community, we need your support to sustain this important work. Would you please consider joining hands with LALDEF and making a donation to support our efforts? Our work is only possible due to the generous support of our donors, and we are immensely grateful to those who continue to make our mission possible.

If you are interested in giving, additional details regarding how to make your gift can be found here: https://laldef.org/donate/. We look forward to hearing your feedback, and thank you for your continued support as we make Mercer County a better place for all immigrants.
